New grant opportunity aims to get food on the table for all Jeffco residents

Sitting down for dinner is a daily activity, but many families lack enough food or cannot afford healthy, familiar meals.

Through our work with community partners and experts in food policy, we’ve discovered challenges we want to address to help get food to people who need it most.

In Jeffco, many people struggle to find food that is affordable, nutritious and culturally relevant. In fact, nearly 10% of Jeffco residents feel insecure in their ability to consistently provide food for themselves and their families, and over 40% of older adults in Jeffco report difficulty accessing quality affordable food.*

We believe there are many ways our community can come together to address this issue — whether it’s through increasing enrollment in public assistance benefits, increasing access to food through food pantries and other effective programs, thinking about how food is produced and distributed, or addressing barriers that affect thousands of Jeffco residents.

Our goal is to fund organizations that are doing this critical work because we believe the results of these efforts will improve the overall health and collective wellbeing of Jeffco communities.
