ARVADA, Colo. (July 8, 2024) – Colorado Gives Foundation announced today a $4 million grant opportunity to support nonprofits working in Jefferson County (Jeffco). With a vision for a thriving Jeffco, Colorado Gives Foundation listened to the community to identify the greatest local needs which informed where the Foundation should focus its funding support. These areas are:
- Collective Wellbeing, which focuses on efforts to help neighbors have consistent access to nutritious food and attainable housing. This impact area supports stable, accessible and affordable living conditions to build a promising future for all, and supports improved access to food for Jeffco residents, ensuring the availability of local, healthy and culturally relevant food.
- Economic Freedom, which focuses on efforts to help neighbors access resources and opportunities to pursue career-based education aligned with their goals and aspirations. This work can help people make intentional life and work choices, ultimately leading to economic freedom. The Foundation’s commitment to this impact area starts with early care and education and extends through workforce development, creating careers that build generational wealth.
- Vibrant Communities, which are built on a foundation of holistic wellbeing, social connection and easy access to the places where people can live, work and interact. Efforts focus on enabling equitable access to health and convenient neighborhoods which combine to improve both individual and collective quality of life.
“When people have privilege, money, and connections, a lot of things in life are easy,” said savinay nathan, community impact vice president for Colorado Gives Foundation. “When people don’t have access to privilege, money, or connections, life can be much harder. Thriving depends on our surroundings and on our networks, so we want to support efforts that enhance quality of life for everyone in Jefferson County.”
