Community foundation boards play a critical role in shaping impact. At Colorado Gives Foundation, our Board of Directors helps guide our strategy, steward charitable resources and ensure our work continues to serve communities across Colorado and here in Jefferson County (Jeffco).
Colorado Gives Foundation’s Board Supports Thriving Communities
For more than 50 years, Colorado Gives Foundation has connected people, ideas and Colorado nonprofits to make good happen. Looking ahead, we will place extra emphasis on these two priorities:
First, we’re helping more nonprofits strengthen their financial stability and sustain their missions for generations by providing our nonprofit endowment partners matching grants, fundraising tools, educational resources, long-term flexible funds and access to below-market financing for growth and capital projects.
Second, as Jeffco’s community foundation, we believe people and communities thrive when they feel connected to one another and to the places where they gather. We’re launching a new campaign to strengthen community connection in Jeffco, alongside grant opportunities that support resident wellbeing and enhance shared community spaces.
Our Board of Directors plays a vital role in moving this work forward. Their leadership and commitment to community help ensure Colorado Gives Foundation continues connecting donors, nonprofits and partners to strengthen communities today and for generations to come.
Recognizing Board Members for Their Leadership + Service
Colorado Gives Foundation is grateful to the three board members who have served our organization and community for several years. Their leadership strengthened our ability to expand philanthropy across Colorado while deepening our commitment as Jeffco’s community foundation.
They helped shape key milestones across Jeffco and the state, including:
- Led a successful leadership transition in 2019
- Launched a rebrand and new name, from Community First Foundation to Colorado Gives Foundation
- Established a new strategic plan that reconnected the foundation with its Jefferson County roots
- Provided critical funding and support to nonprofits during the COVID-19 pandemic while creating opportunities for donors to support their communities through ColoradoGives.org and Colorado Gives Day
Our sincere thanks to Joy S. Johnson, Shelly A. Marquez and Penfield W. Tate III for their years of service. We’re grateful for the wisdom, leadership and commitment to community you’ve shared with our organization.
