JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. (Feb. 2, 2026) – Building on proven success, Colorado Gives Foundation announced a new grant opportunity supporting community organizations working to expand affordable housing in Jefferson County (Jeffco). This funding focuses on raising awareness, increasing housing options, supporting short-term housing and navigation services, and advancing investments to preserve and create affordable homes so local workers and families can continue to live where they work.
“When people have a safe, affordable place to live, opportunities that were previously out of reach become possible,” said savinay nathan, community impact vice president for Colorado Gives Foundation. “Housing grants in Jefferson County are helping families stay together, seniors remain in their homes and neighbors move from crisis to stability. This new grant opportunity builds on that progress by creating accessible housing, strengthening communities and ensuring everyone has a place to belong.”
Proven Impact Across Jefferson County
Over the past year, housing investments across Jefferson County have helped families stay housed, moved people from homelessness into permanent homes, preserved existing affordable housing and strengthened community partnerships. These achievements lay the groundwork for the next phase of housing solutions.
In late 2024, Colorado Gives Foundation provided close to a million dollars ($888,000) in grant funding to 24 organizations working to increase access to housing in the county. These funds supported a wide range of initiatives, including eviction prevention, rental assistance, transitional housing, home repair, senior housing, recovery housing and community advocacy. Together, these efforts are helping families avoid displacement, strengthened public understanding of housing needs, and advanced solutions that support long-term housing security and measurable results.
- 98,027 Jefferson County residents served through housing-related services and engagement.
- 1,710 residents received short-term or emergency housing options.
- 1,400 residents and grassroots groups engaged in housing policy and advocacy conversations.
- 89 resources created to educate the public on the positive impacts of affordable housing.
- 10 strategies advanced from the Jeffco Housing Blueprint, a plan created by the Jeffco Housing Advocacy Steering Committee (a group of community leaders) to address the county’s housing challenges and provide a dynamic tool to guide local efforts.
A Forward-Looking Housing Strategy
This new grant opportunity continues our work to make housing more affordable and accessible in Jefferson County by supporting efforts to:
- Raise public awareness and education about why affordable housing matters.
- Expand housing options using proven local strategies.
- Support community engagement and advocacy that lowers the cost of renting or owning a home.
- Support short-term housing, shelters and navigation services that help people find safe places to live.
- Support impact investments to increase or preserve affordable housing for middle-income households in Jeffco.
“By investing in both immediate needs and long-term solutions, Colorado Gives Foundation continues to move toward a future where housing is stable, affordable and accessible for everyone,” added nathan.
