Colorado Gives Foundation is pleased to introduce a new addition to our leadership team, savinay nathan, who joins us as Community Impact Vice President. In this role, savinay will be accountable for developing a clear impact strategy for the organization and supporting the community with all of Colorado Gives Foundation’s philanthropic tools to help Jefferson County thrive.
savinay began his journey with the Colorado Gives Foundation in December 2023, bringing with him experiences that have shaped his commitment to his life mission of promoting equity and eradicating suffering through peace, love, and compassion. Born in India, savinay’s early years exposed him to the inequity of deep poverty, sparking a lifelong passion for creating positive change.
His formative years in Saudi Arabia and subsequent relocation to the U.S. provided him with a unique perspective on “third culture, first-gen” identity. At the age of 12, he faced a life-threatening tropical disease, defying the odds to become one of the first survivors in American history. This transformative experience fueled his determination to contribute meaningfully to the world. To that end and inspired by UC Berkeley professor john a. powell and author bell hooks, savinay intentionally spells his name in lowercase, symbolizing his desire to be in the world, but not above it.
savinay’s diverse professional background further amplifies his ability to make a difference. His career journey includes leading strategic programs at Boeing and Denver Public Schools, starting his own education and impact consulting practice, and most recently serving as the first CEO of Minds Matter Colorado, a college access mentoring organization committed to helping high school students from low-income communities get into college with scholarships. He also has an engineering degree from the University of Pennsylvania, a Masters in Educational Leadership from The Broad Center, and an MBA from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, savinay has seamlessly navigated across various sectors.
savinay brings considerable skills to the organization including “connecting dots, identifying innovative visions, setting strategic roadmaps, and energizing others to create a shared future.” With a unique blend of experiences, perspective, and abilities, savinay will be an invaluable asset to our organization. His leadership roles, commitment to positive change, and dedication to diversity and inclusion position him perfectly to contribute to our goal of creating a lasting impact in Jefferson County. As we welcome savinay to our Community Impact team, we eagerly look forward to continued community collaboration in our collective journey toward spreading good, which is good for everyone.
