Jefferson County (Jeffco) is a special place, and it’s where we call home. As the community foundation serving Jeffco, we work to connect people, ideas and nonprofits because we believe community is built through connection. That’s why we’re supporting events throughout Jeffco this spring and summer to connect people with nonprofits working to help our community thrive.

23rd Annual Indian Market and Intertribal Powwow

Tesoro means “Treasure” in Spanish and the Tesoro Cultural Center is one nonprofit working in Jeffco to protect and share the artistic treasures of our American past. Drawing inspiration from Colorado’s diverse heritage, including influences from Southwest, Spanish, Mexican, Native American, African American and Early European cultures, the annual Indian Market and Intertribal Powwow showcases art, cuisine, historical re-enactments and music. Their mission is to foster community through culturally enriching events and educational outreach programs that celebrate our shared cultural heritage.

The event is held at The Fort in Jeffco and celebrates American Indian Art, Culture & Dance. Award winning American Indian Artists will sell and demonstrate their art in a juried show, Intertribal Contest Powwow both days! Plus, see the honoring of a veteran, educational exhibits by Denver Museum of Nature and Science, History Colorado, Nature’s Educators and Remembering the Brave. Food concessions are available on both days. This is sure to be fun for the whole family!
