ARVADA, Colo., (May 6, 2026) Colorado Gives Foundation announced the recipients of its latest Housing Grant, aimed at helping nonprofits improve access to stable and affordable housing and create a more thriving Jefferson County (Jeffco). In total, the foundation approved 27 grantees for $1.58M in funding across Jeffco. Grant dollars will support awardees in pursuing crucial community housing objectives, including:

  • Providing immediate housing support while working toward long-term solutions
  • Keeping housing affordable so neighborhoods remain welcoming and livable

One awardee, BeyondHome, plans to use the funding to support its transitional housing program for single mothers and their families in Jefferson County. The grant will provide resources for supportive housing and help families achieve long-term housing stability. Another, Family Tree, is receiving support for their Roots of Courage emergency shelter providing survivors of domestic violence and their children with a safe environment, crisis hotline support and navigation resources to help families achieve stability and security.

“What grantees like BeyondHome and Family Tree are doing in Jeffco is remarkable,” said savinay nathan [sic], community impact vice president at Colorado Gives Foundation. “They’re meeting people in their most vulnerable moments and supporting them with a real path forward. The work these organizations do every day is what strengthens a community from the inside out and we’re proud to be a small part of that.”

Colorado Gives Foundation focuses its efforts on three main areas: collective wellbeing, economic freedom and vibrant communities. The Housing Grants are a key part of the Foundation’s work to build collective wellbeing by supporting stable, accessible and affordable places to call home.

Building on the momentum of the housing initiatives, the Foundation is now accepting applications for its next round of Health Grants. These grants will help build a vibrant community with supporting nonprofits working to improve mental, physical, social and spiritual health in Jefferson County. Projects supported may include affordable healthcare initiatives or programs that bring people together to build stronger communities. From expanding access to low- or no-cost care to fostering beneficial relationships, the Health Grant aims to improve whole-person health and create more community connections.

“Housing and health are the building blocks for everything else,” said nathan [sic]. “When people have stable housing and access to healthcare that meets their needs, they can focus on their families, their jobs, their neighbors and communities. That’s how we build a Jefferson County where everyone can thrive.”

Previous Health Grants programs have already made a significant impact. So far, they have helped 82 organizations serve more than 11,000 Jefferson County residents, expanding mental health services for over 6,400 people and engaging nearly 12,500 residents in community programs that bring people together and support public wellbeing.

Safe, affordable housing leads to better health outcomes, while healthcare and community programs further promote stability through consistent access to medicine, nutritious food and social bonds. By investing in housing and health, the foundation is building a stronger, more connected Jeffco where basic needs are met in a community that fosters connections and promotes holistic wellbeing.
